Consulate Kirkuk is located on the Kirkuk Regional Airport Base, formerly Contingency Operating Stations (COS) Warrior.
The Consulate hours are Sunday through Thursday from 8:00 to 17:00 and the consulate is closed on all American and most Iraqi holidays. The Consulate is not open to the general public, but visitors with business to conduct are admitted by appointment.
The Consulate does not provide visa services or American citizen services, which are both provided by the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. U.S. citizens residing in Kirkuk province who need immediate assistance can e-mail the Embassy at BaghdadACS@state.gov or call the Embassy switchboard at +1-240-553-0581 and ask for the Consular Section.
Consulate Kirkuk serves Kirkuk Province. The Consulate consists of an executive office headed by the Consul and sections covering political affairs, economic affairs, public diplomacy, [rule of law], management, and security. [The Rule of Law section is staffed by the Department of Justice.] Co-located with the U.S. Consulate is the Office of Security Cooperation – Iraq (OSC-I), which provides training to the Iraqi military.
