U.S. Consulate Kirkuk serves Kirkuk Province. The Consulate consists of an executive office headed by Consul Timothy Pounds and sections covering political and economic affairs, public diplomacy outreach, management, and security. Consulate hours are Sunday through Thursday from 8:00 to 17:00; the Consulate is closed on all American and most Iraqi holidays. The Consulate is not open to the general public, but visitors with business to conduct may contact the Consulate by sending an email to KirkukPublicAffairs@state.gov.
The Consulate does not provide visa services or American citizen services, which are both provided by the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. U.S. citizens residing in Kirkuk province who need immediate assistance may e-mail the Embassy at BaghdadACS@state.gov or call the Embassy switchboard at 0760-030-3000 and ask for the Consular Section. Callers after regular business hours will receive recorded instructions in English and Arabic for further assistance. Please note that the Embassy does not accept any phone calls regarding visas or passport applications. For questions regarding visas and passports, inquiries are ONLY accepted via e-mail.
